My parents have always taught me to be polite. That included saying "please and thank you", behaving when out in public and sending out thank you notes. There was probably a whole lot more...
Sending out thank you notes was just as important as the others and started before I could even write. At that time, my parents would either sign my name or trace my hand and let me draw a picture.
Once I learned to write, I would send out my own cards, usually handmade. Nanna kept a bunch and it's fun to try and decipher them.
As I grew, my days were filled with teenage pursuits which lead me to procrastinate. Sometimes I would delay writing a note for several months.
Nanna would remind me that it was "Never too late to say Thank you".
Never.
To this day, I send out thank you notes. Maybe not as many as I should but I know what it feels like to receive one so I try my best.
When I found Lindsay's Company, Grace Announcements on Pinterest, I knew that her personalized cards were perfect for The Zoo.
I Love "The Monogram"!
Lindsay kindly sent me 10 "initial" notecards that came on 140lb premium recycled matte cardstock and envelopes on 100% recycled paper. The cards measure 4" x 5.5" and have tons of space on the front and back (it's blank) to let the recipients know much you appreciate them.
The cards held up well to the kids manhandling (accidental on my part, not theirs). You can't even tell, not even on the corners.
Grace Announcements carries more than just custom cards and announcements for every.single.occasion. They carry personalized gifts such as labels, placemats and wall art prints. I especially like "The Monogram" Wall Print because all three kids names would fit with room to spare.
If you're looking for that special gift or something for yourself, I highly suggest that you check out the wide array of products that Grace Announcements has to offer. The set of 10 cards that I received retail for $24. A non-personalized card sells for twice that. With Grace Announcements, you can save money and be unique. Double Win!
I always remember Nanna's other threat piece of advice...
If you don't send cards, people will stop sending you presents.

ReplyDeleteI have heard nothing but great things about Grace Announcements. And when I have connected w her on Twitter, she is always so pleasant. Maybe I will look into placing an order! Thanks for sharing! Love your cards. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE these!! I'm always sending thank you cards and I think it's so important, even though many people don't seem to do it anymore. It's a lost form of communication lately and I hope more people bring it back...especially with cute note cards like this hehe
ReplyDeleteAs a teenager, my dad left our mom for someone else and moved out. Shortly after, my mom met someone else and moved out with him; leaving my two sisters and I home alone. A few weeks later, our dad (learning that our mom had left us), moved back home. But, growing up without a mom (and with our dad working long hours everyday), we grew up with little guidance.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant with my 2nd child, my supervisor at work arranged a baby shower for me - in addition to presenting me with a quilted blanket sewn by her. I was very much appreciative and "thanked" each and everyone personnally. However, I was never taught the Etiquetteness of "thank you" notes. This infuriated my supervisor (who made comments to all who listened) that I was totally unappreciative. This embarrassed me badly, and since a month had already passed, I felt it was too late to send out "thank you" cards, as my reputation had already been tarnished.
My son (whom I was pregnant with at the time) is now 23 years old, and this memory still haunts me. :(
