On Vacation
For how long, we don't know (oh, the life of a nomad). We're hoping until Ed has to leave for Edmonton (for work, in mid-September). However, as luck would have it, he just got a contract yesterday so will probably need to travel to Ottawa a couple of times!?
We can't wait for the kids to meet my Dad's side of the family and spend time at their "second home".
We will be available via email and phone (you can call our house number or the number at my Dad's farm). We will try to do some posts, however, my Dad only has dial-up (seriously!?) so it might be painful. Regardless, we'll take tons of photos and keep a journal so that we can update you when we get back.
Wishing you a great summer!

Remembering Alexander. We Will Never Forget
Alexander was Alexander before he was even conceived. Both Ed and I liked the name (before we even met) and knew that if we ever had children, we would use the name Alexander.
Therefore, when the trio was conceived, we knew that “Baby A” would literally be “Baby A” regardless of whether they were a boy or girl.
Alexander (not Alex) originally had the middle name Maximilian. But when Max came along, we liked the name so much that we wanted him to have it. In turn, we needed to come up with a new middle name. Jacob had always been on the shortlist, however, it doesn’t translate well in Spanish. The J is silent and sounds like an H and they add an O to the end. It would sound like Ha/co/bo (both o’s are long). Not what we were going for (as a first name) but perfect as a middle name!
Over the past 7 months, we have been making more memories with Alexander. Memories of a different sort.
Nanna and Alexander have many memories together as he travels everywhere with her. In fact, she wears him around her neck.
Gael and Alexander regularly go kayaking together and are one with nature. I look forward to sharing some of the (pictures) sights that they see.
We’d love to hear of your memories with Alexander.
Alexander's baptism certificate reads, "The life and death of each of us has an influence on others". Rom 4:17. Alexander has had a positive influence on so many, quite a feat for such a young boy.
We talk to Alexander everyday. He is a part of our life. There will always be three. Words cannot express how much we miss him. Our hearts are so sad. He will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Memoirs of Artemis, The Goddess of The Hunt
Like Max mentioned, I too can grab and suck my feet (although I like my soother better).
I've started to spend some quality time in my Chair of Neglect (Jolly Jumper) but quite honestly, I find it boring.
I'm now able to half sit-up (on my own) and am seriously getting ready to crawl! I spend most of my waking hours perfecting this craft. I'm a busy gal.
I've started holding my bottle all by myself for long periods of time (when I want to) but my parents have to make sure that it's tilted as it's still pretty heavy. My mom wanted me to tell you that she's trying to (remember to) get a picture.
Other than that, I’m a really easy going baby, sleep 12 hours at night, love the water, take all my bottles and don't cry or fuss much at all.
I'm just trying to psych my parents into believing that I'll be an easy kid and then when they least expect it, WHAM, I'll really show them my stuff.
I almost forgot, Alexander, Max and I were born seven months ago today.
How time flies when you're having fun!

Memoirs from a Six Month Old, Also Known as Max
Did you know that within my easy reach, there are two appendages with five little things hanging off each of them?
How come no one told me about them?
How long have they been there?
Yesterday I discovered that they existed.
My parents tell me that one of them "had roast beef". I just want to know when I can have some of this stuff that they apparently covet. They talk about it like I'm missing something good.
My sister has discovered that she too has them, however, she’s more interested in her soother and scooting around on her behind.

Update: Apparently this contraption is called a "Jolly Jumper". Thanks Ingrid.

Bottles, Spas and Vacation
Yesterday, Ed sent me to the spa for a facial and massage. I had a lovely time and it got me to thinking, I should have kids more often...
We are getting ready/packed for vacation which begins next week (I've been getting ready for weeks). We can hardly wait to see all of you!
As you know, we’ve had a heat wave for the past few days. Yesterday it was 40 degrees (with the humidex). The kids are back to “being naked”. Here’s a recent picture. In case you can't tell them apart, Artemis is the one eating the "car key".

The Way They Were. How Far They Come in Six Months
One of the two of them in (our) bed this morning .
Here's a blast from the past, pictures of them the day(s) that they came home.
Max at 5lbs in his car seat (note that it was rated for 5lbs).
Max in his "bed" (our laundry basket).
Max with his Poppa. Poppa was lucky that he was there the day that Max AND Artemis came home (2 weeks apart).
Artemis in her car seat (also at 5lbs).
Max and Artemis with Poppa (the day Artemis came home). Max is in the green and white striped sleeper.
