You know, no soothers, no night time bottles, no noisy toys, no television.
I thought about writing a post about it but you've heard it all before.
Besides, I've done everything I swore I wouldn't.

So, I thought that I would put a new spin on an old classic and write about "All the Things that I Swore I Would Do as a Parent".
And so ends this post.
Seriously though, I never really thought about it. I was so focused on all the things I wanted to avoid that I didn't focus on the positives.
If I had made a list, I would have put the following on it...
Say Yes More. Ice cream for breakfast never hurt anyone. Just look at my kids.
Embrace Failure. Your kids will not be the best at everything and that's okay. Failure is not a bad word. It makes people question what is important. Disappointment is a reality. Prepare them for the real world.
Ignore the Mompetitors. Everyone loses. Especially the kids.
Admit you make Mistakes. Apologize and move on. You'll have an opportunity to make a different choice next time.
Learn from your Parents. Did I just write that? Well, they didn't do that bad a job. If I do say so myself.
Enjoy the Moment. You can't have yesterday back but you can get the most out of today. Life is short and kids grow up really quickly.
