We travel a lot of the year and when we're not living the life of nomads, we reside in Ontario, Canada. We speak English, Spanish and French and love the words Acceptance, Compassion and Empathy.
I'm Sarah, the Author of this blog. I used to say that I was a "Zookeeper" but people thought that I really was one. I'm not. Although it seems like it sometimes.
Blogging, talking and crafts are my favourite pursuits. I'm sarcastic and almost always joking.
I try to remember that Life is Short.
I became a Mother for the first (and last) time when I gave birth to Triplets in December 2009; Alexander, Maximilian and Artemis. Sadly, Alexander passed away. This is our Journey.
The other Zookeeper is Ed. When he isn't sitting at his computer bringing home the bacon he likes to be in his workshop making (or breaking) things. Ed is really private (and follically challenged).
Alexander was named after "Alexander the Great" 356BC-323BC. He is our first-born King, and considered to be one of history's most successful commanders. After a valiant fight, Alexander passed away from "Necrotizing Enterocolitis, NEC".
We miss him every minute. Alexander and Max are identical (mono/dizygotic) twins.
Max(imilian) was named after "Maximilian the Emperor" 1459-1519 and is second in-line to the throne. His interests include catapulting things into the air, determining what fits in electrical outlets and deconstructing everything.
He is his Father's son.
Artemis was named after "Artemis the Goddess" of Ancient Greece.
She loves puzzles, looking after others and ensuring that everything is as it should be. If not, she'll let you know.
Don't try to call her "Artie" or "Missy" or I'll let you know.
She is her Mother's daughter.
Aries, usually referred to as "Aries the Cat" is the Matriarch of the Family. She was born in the month of April making her born under "The Ram" Zodiac sign, hence her name.
At 17 years old, what she's says goes. And she has a lot to say!
Reina is "Queen" in Spanish and she lives up to her name.
Don't let the fact that she's an American Staffordshire Bull Terrier scare you as she is gentle, kind and loved by all.
She's even bionic!
Like Reina, Phoenix is a rescue dog. He was named after The Phoenix.
He has multiple health issues but what he lacks in brains he makes up for in enthusiasm.
He is a Boxer after all.
Welcome to The Zoo!

Hi Sarah! I'm coming your way from Brooke's Creating Comfort blog. Your blog looks like lots of fun and I'm excited to explore more! Your zoo crew is awfully beautiful. I'm so deeply sorry for your loss of your king, Alexander. Max is gorgeous. With love, Kasey
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, just clicked through to this page when going about my Alexa duties. I love reading all your stories and I am so very saddened to hear of your loss of Alexander. My heart breaks for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Monica
I've been strolling through your blog and really enjoying your stories! Am so excited that we connected via Cheryl's blog. I'm definitely planning on living vicariously through you and your travels. I love how much thought you put into everyone's name. We chose Syona's name with a lot of thought as well (it means rays of the sun/happiness and also has a slightly harder to explain meaning that can best be summarized as the true essence of the female spirit). I have no doubt in my heart that Alexandar lives fully and completely up to his namesake.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining my blog! So rare to get a follower from Ontario!! That is where we live as well.

We'll be taking our first big trip since having two kids to a small island in The Bahamas here shortly, and I can't wait! Also... just had to say that my son's name is Phoenix. :)
