Are you a Blog Sabatoge Enabler? {Awareness}

Ever get that sinking feeling that something just isn't right, that someone is sabatoging you?

I have that feeling.

I won't go into specifics because as they say in Hollywood, "All Publicity is Good Publicity" (although I think a few people should rethink that concept).

What I will share is that another blog who is way bigger than me (in their minds anyways) doesn't like me. Whether I did anything to justify this or not it doesn't matter.

When you get down to it, the Pied Piper isn't the problem, it's all those pesky mice. What did I ever do to them?

Blog Sabatoger Rat

I'm just a Rodent. What Can I Do?

I know that the last thing that I would do is to condone this person's actions. That means no commenting or putting the poor soul down (that would be me). If you're really up to the challenge call the person out on their behaviour.

Without an audience, they'll just find something else to complain about. Trust me, you don't want to be on their radar at all.

Focus on what's really important in your life. What will really get you ahead. One day the sponsors and followers will all be gone and what will you be left with?

Me, I'll be rescuing dogs in Mexico and working to make this world a better place, one Sabatoger and Enabler at a time.

Go big or go home is my motto.

I am fortunate as I have a strong support base. Not only in the Canadian blogging community, but also at home and amongst my friends.

While the "higher road" might be a bit lonely sometimes, the people that hang out there are my friends. I like them.

Remember Enablers, You're Next...

And when they Sabatogers come for you (and they will, grade six anyone), give me a call. Plenty of room up here and the air is better quality too.

Life is Short. What's Important to You?

Note Added After the Fact. Due to concern from all my friends, I want to stress that I am not being threatened in any way. The occurrences are petty (think grade six) and merely a small blip on this road called "Life". Thanks for looking out for me and yes, I would appreciate it if you uninvited them to your birthday party.

  1. Whoa. This is such a good post. Thanks so much for sharing. So sorry to hear this has happened to you. I cannot imagine ANYONE trying to sabotage you/your blog. It makes me really, REALLY sad and disappointed to hear so many of these stories going on. Sad.

Glad you seem to be taking it in stride. That's a good way to be. All the more reason I luv you and your blog!

  2. I'm so disappointed to hear that someone is trying to be difficult towards you or your blog! You are being the bigger person and walking past it, which is what I would do as well. In my opinion, take it as a compliment...must mean you're doing SOMETHING right to be getting this type of unreasonable reaction from this person ;) hehe

  3. Jealous is what comes to mind when I read your post, some people's kids hey! lol. I think you are doing the best thing you can, ignore and take the higher road. I liked the way you wrote this it is really tasteful and not attacking but gets the point across, I wish others would approach this situation the way you just did :) Karma is all I can say....

  6. I've been hemming and hawing over what to say (not I!), but I really couldn't have said it any better than Kevin - "At the end of the day you have to live with you and I bet you sleep well at night!!" Just awesome, Kevin. Thanks for that. :)

It's only been a month, but I feel as though I've known you for ages and I truly cherish our friendship. It pains me to hear that you are being bullied, but I think this post is the perfect way to bring a sticky situation into the light. It seems bullying has reached epic proportions, online and off, amongst kids and adults. It's a real shame, but facing it head on as you've done is the perfect antidote.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you, but I am also so very inspired by the way you have responded to it. So often bullying begets more bullying, but you've stood your ground and even extended an olive branch to the lemmings. Truly commendable.

  7. Ha! It seems to me that those who were bullied in grade 6 are the ones changing the world and getting somewhere now, while the bullies are left in the dust!
You only have so much time in this life - use it wisely..

.....And you didn't mean me, right? ;)

  11. Oh wow, I could have written this post myself! I have been the victim of a cyber bully for years now. I ignored her, laid low and thought she went away. Now that I am "back in the game" guess what - she's back too. Sadly it's also another blogger (maybe the same one?). I'm so glad that I've meant some supportive and helpful people in this community to help me keep the faith.

I hope your bully doesn't cause you too much stress. They tend to be insecure attention seekers who, unfortunately, need to try to bring others down (especially ones they feel threatened by) to make themselves feel good.

  12. Wow, I already don't like that person!!! Wish I knew who it was, so I could really hate on her (him?? naw, guys usually are too up-front for 6th grade cr*p) for you.

Good attitude. Anyone who rescues dogs and has the sense of humor that you have is DEFINITELY already on the high road.

  13. So sorry to hear this is happening to you, but I'm glad you've decided to take the high road on this issue, it shows how you're a better person. I hope whoever this person is grows up and stop acting childish.
