Or every Sunday.
At the very least, once a month.
And it has nothing to do with the presents.
Although they don't hurt.
We should take the time, on a regular basis to celebrate the important Women in our lives. While some might not actually be our Mothers, they should know how much they mean to us. Note, the same goes for the Men.
I have to admit that I'm probably guilty of not doing this but like "My Nanna" used to say.... it's never too late to say thank you and there's no time like the present.
~You were very patient on your journey to becoming a Mother. Every one that knows you would agree that you wanted Uncle Andrew and I very much in your life. You gave 110% and it showed. You always say that I am the best Mother. I learned it all from you.
~You were very patient in your journey to becoming a Grandmother. There was only that one little comment. Once. Since June 2009, you have been our; babysitter, chef, housekeeper, laundry-doer and all around rule breaker extraordinaire. Cookies for breakfast while watching a third repeat of Barney never hurt anyone.
~You make me excited to be a Grandmother. I look forward to
torturing amusing my kids with all my rule breaking. I'm taking notes from the best.
~Every day, I accept your quirks more and more. I realize how much looking at you is like looking in the mirror. I could have done worse.
I'm happy to say that none of this is news to you.
However, this year I'm stepping things up. I'm not going to give you the totally predictable gift that you've grown to love. Instead, I'm going to take all the money that I would have spent on a facial, manicure and pedicure and divide it by 12. Each month, I'm going to buy you something; a card, sweet, or key lanyard to show you how much you mean to me.
Just kidding. I know what's good for me.
Happy Mother's Day Nanna
